Fast-growing Shiitake 3782 liquid culture, produced for inoculating sterilised grain spawn and hardwood-based substrates.

Shiitake 3782 is a well-established commercial strain known for vigorous colonisation, reliable fruiting and strong yields on supplemented hardwood sawdust. It produces attractive brown caps with a meaty texture and rich umami flavour.

A particularly good choice for growers producing shiitake on sterilised hardwood blocks.

Shiitake requires a fully colonised and matured/browned block before fruiting. A temperature drop or cold-water soak can be used to initiate fruiting.

What to Expect

Shiitake 3782 is a vigorous strain that can colonise supplemented sawdust relatively quickly. Research has found 3782 to be among the higher-yielding shiitake strains for supplemented sawdust blocks.

The fruits can be smaller when conditions produce a heavy pin set, while cooler fruiting conditions can produce larger, well-formed caps.

Store refrigerated at 2–4°C.

Do not freeze.

For best results, use fresh and avoid prolonged storage. Gently mix before use to distribute the culture throughout the liquid.
